January 25th in the library at 12pm
There are some exciting items on the agenda for this month's meeting. Some are centred around support for students, parent education, and hot lunch. The official agenda will be out later this week. Please email me with your suggestions or additions. Redfishpac@gmail.com
The after-school programs and hot lunch are again up and running successfully! Good job everyone.
Reminder that we are continuing to alternate between daytime and evening meetings. So, if you cannot attend January's during the day, February's will be a 5:30pm start.
The vision survey, I mentioned in my last post, is now out. Please follow the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MXHDTQX. ***Note: I just completed this survey. It is only three(3) questions asking you to rank your values. Super quick, simple, and easy to do - even on your phone!*** Also, to find out more regarding the budget setting process, check out: http://www.sd8.bc.ca/…/20…/12/F-2018_2019-Budget-Process.pdf
The next DPAC meeting is Wednesday January 24th starting at 6:00pm in the Board Office. There is usually a guest speaker. I think this month's is a continuation of a presentation by Ben Eaton the Director of Independent Learning. The agenda can be found here: https://dpacsd8.weebly.com
We are passionate about our children! Sometimes this makes it difficult to have important, constructive conversations without getting frustrated, angry, or overwhelmed. Remember, there are parent advocates in the district that can help. Email: sd8advocate@gmail.com for a confidential conversation. Also, check out https://dpacsd8.weebly.com/advocacy-parents-helping-parents.html for information about Parent Advocacy and for resources.
Kind Regards,
Raeanne
